1 review for XS Power Batteries S-Series Racing Battery 16-Volt

I got these for my T/S drag car because they are nearly a perfect replacement size for my no-longer-available 10 y/o Powermaster 16V batteries. The difference I found is the terminal threads are 1/4″ fine and not 3/8″. The batteries come with stud adapters, so no problem, except one of the adapters was not threaded (terrible quality control especially considering the cost).

The three that were threaded have very shallow threads; a 1/4-20 bolt does does fit. I threaded the unfinished adapter to 1/4-20 and again, too large to get started in the battery. I then used a #12 dye on the bottom of the now-threaded adapter, and luckily this allowed for insertion and for the adapter to then be tightened (held my breath hoping it would not strip). All this would have been prevented if an unthreaded adapter wasn’t included in the kit.

The batteries started the car (yay!) and I have not raced with them yet. Small beef, but should never have required me to trouble-shoot!
